After more than a year of social distancing my wife and I stepped out and went to lunch. WOW it felt great getting back to normal activities. Went lunch at the Half Moon grille in Wallingford, CT. My wife ordered a pecan chicken salad wrap, I opted for the prosciutto, roasted peppers and mozzarella panini. Service was quick and friendly, the food was just a I remembered, excellent. As people came into the resturant there were loud greetings of welcome back like going to a friends house, very comforting feeling. We each had a choice of chips or pasta salad, we went for the pasta salad, just the right amount and mixed just right. The chicken salad wrap was packed full of tender chicken mixed with pecans, grapes and lettuce, my wife said it was delicious. The prosciutto panini was just perfect thinly sliced prosciutto covered with red roasted peppers (which I claim make a sandwich) and mozzarella cheese, and a little basil. I would recommend stopping in here when you are looking for a great place to enjoy great food and great service.

Awesome place!!!! It was super lively when we went and the atmosphere was great. The menu has a bunch of options; everything our group ordered was delicious! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal in Wallingford.

This is a real gem.The inside is very attractively decorated and the outside seating is right on Main street. The menu was very extensive and had more than your run of the mill food. I had the Roast beef panini with a pasta salad. Really tasty and huge for a price that would be hard to beat. Highly recommend this restaurant.

This was hands down one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. My special guy's father is friend's with the owner & we brought family visiting from Italy for dinner. This was my first time trying the food, everything was delicious, portions huge. You can order larger, family style meals several days in advance & it's BYOB (love it). I was very surprised by everything as the outside along with the name of the restaurant doesn't remotely sound like an Italian restaurant. I would definitely take the ride just to eat here again.

Pizza was great and not what I was expecting in a good way. Freshness of the ingredients kicked it up too. Staff are always waiting on me to ensure if want anything else but very subtle and not hounding me.

Have meant to share this for a few weeks now because it was outstanding!! Reminded me when we went last night. We had a different, but also outstanding dish. My only regret was not photographing last nights dish too!! The chefs are so creative and always provide such an impressive presentation. The service is always so accommodating and appreciated, as well as the cleanliness of their restaurant. One of my favorite spots for fairly priced, delicious dinners ❤️ By the way, I hope shrimp burgers are on the specials menu again soon. I’m hooked!!

I had a great experience at Half Moon Grill & Cafe in Wallingford last Friday night. My wife and I went with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday after spending some time at Back Nine Social, and this ended up being the perfect spot to continue the night. One of the big reasons we chose Half Moon was the BYOB option, which was a huge plus. We were able to bring our own drinks, relax, and really enjoy the evening. We were seated quickly, and they brought out baskets of pizza right away, which was a great start, fresh and really delicious. Our waitress was fantastic. Super friendly, attentive, and helpful in walking us through the menu and specials. The service throughout the night was spot on. For food, I ordered the turkey panini and my wife had a chicken panini. Both sandwiches were huge, flavorful, and really satisfying. I also tried the Jamaican beef patties, which were excellent. The sides (pasta salad and chips) were just okay, but honestly the quality and portion size of the main dishes more than made up for it. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals, and we really appreciated that they were able to accommodate separate checks, it made things so much easier for a group. Overall, it was a really fun night with great food, great service, and a relaxed atmosphere. I’d definitely come back again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a casual, enjoyable spot in the area.
